How To Connect With The OWB 11.2.0.2 Client to an OWB 11.2.0.3 Repository [ID 1361915.1]

Goal

On platforms where Oracle Warehouse Builder 11.2.0.3 is not yet available, the OWB 11.2.0.2 Client is certified for use with databases running Oracle Warehouse Builder 11.2.0.3. This note explains what to do to fully enable this support.

Solution

On the OWB 11.2.0.2 Client machine:

1. Apply the latest cumulative patch available for OWB 11.2.0.2 referenced in Note 1271208.1: List of Patches Available for OWB 11.2.
2. Edit <OWB_HOME>/owb/bin/admin/Preference.properties

Change the following options:

OverrideRepositoryVersionCheck=true
OverrideRuntimeVersionCheck=true

This should enable OWB 11.2.0.2 to connect to the OWB 11.2.0.3 repository.


Note that the following output in the java console can be ignored:

When OWB 11.2.0.3 is available on the required platform, it is recommended to use the OWB 11.2.0.3 version on the client.
